WOMEN LEADERS AND YOUTH OF GITEGA RECEIVED TEACHINGS FROM HER EXCELLENCE THE FIRST LADY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BURUNDI



 
During her mobilization campaign of women and youth about the wisdom, maternal health, the fight against obstetric fistula and social cohesion Friday, May 20, 2016, Her Excellency Reverend Pastor Denise Nkurunziza has visited the province of Gitega which is the fifth province visited since the beginning of this campaign. She met more than 250 women leaders at 10:00 AM while the youth program was set at 4:00 PM.Then, guests in the meeting with women leaders were mainly the first vice president of the Senate, Members of Parliament, the Minister of Education, a lady who teaches at the University of Washington as well as representatives of various associations. In the meeting with young people, it was about 2500 students from high schools located in the city of Gitega.
The First Lady of the Republic of Burundi has recommended women leaders to recognize their responsibilities in the family as an intelligent woman is a crown to her husband. “A wise woman has the following characteristics: she is faithful to her husband; she is not evil to her husband; she is courageous, strong and fast; she ensures the education of her children and says peaceful words and helps the poor”, details HE Pastor Denise Nkurunziza.
For young people, the First Lady recommended them to respect their parents, to have a vision in their heart to prevent manipulation, escape the evil and fighting against all kinds of adultery.
In the health field, the Spouse of the Head of State instructed and youth and women leaders to avoid early marriage and do cervical cancer screening and fight against the excessive population increase which is a handicapped development.
In appreciation, women leaders of Gitega Province granted to Her Excellency First Lady of the Republic of Burundi the gift of 400 cement bags estimated 9.6 million BIF and gave her a certificate of honor. The presents were assistance to the First Lady in her project of building an orphanage at Ngozi Province.
