Rumonge, July 14, 2016: Her Excellency Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza,
the First Lady of the Republic of Burundi visited Rumonge province which lasts
one year and three months and nineteen days. It is the seventh province visited
since the beginning of the campaign mobilization of women about the wisdom,
maternal health, the fight against obstetric fistula and social cohesion. She met
more than 900 women leaders at 10:00.
The First Lady of the Republic of Burundi recommended women leaders to
recognize their responsibilities in the family as an intelligent woman is a
crown to her husband: A wise woman has the following characteristics: “She
don’t do gossip; she strengthens her husband; she wakes up early; she ensures
the education of her children and pronounces peaceful words and helps poor”.
The First Lady also recommended them to be honest in their job and
avoid the divisive spirit and respect God as written in Proverbs31:30: “Charm
is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the lord is to be
praised”.
In the health field, Madam Denise Nkurunziza instructed the women leaders to
avoid early marriage, do cervical cancer screening and she recommended them to
be careful about excessive population increase because it is a hinderance of
development.
Among the women leaders who were present in the meeting there were the
Burundian women who actually live in Tanzania at Kigoma province, Members of
parliament and Senators elected in thisprovince, representatives of associations
and the local officials.
